The Wheel of Fraudulence : Index

1. Prologue

The rumbling of the sky traffic had broken his concentration. Airspeeders, both those large and small, were flying around in lines which ended beyond the reach of the human eye. This was always the case on Coruscant: the constant motion, the noise, the arid and polluted air dominated the lower reaches of the planet’s cityscape…

2. Chapter 1

He kept polishing one of the many dirty mugs, his shoe tapping impatiently on the duracrete floor, anxiously awaiting the end of his shift. “Just a little bit more, Kaster”, he was reassuring himself. He tried to keep his eyes on the mug, as though it was the most interesting thing he had ever seen; anything to avoid looking into the eyes of the two hulking men caught in a fight with one another…

2.1. Kill Blind

“Twenty minutes ’till landing!” spoke a crude, distorted voice through the speaker. The transport shuttle rumbled, making the sleeping passengers stir, confused, before closing their eyes again and going back to sleep. The thundering noise of the engines would make any conversation impossible – not that anyone was interested in chatter anyway…

3. Chapter 2

The droid pilot pulled the vehicle up near a long and broad walkway in the apartment district on Nar Shaddaa. The droid’s head unit was designed to resemble a human one – its face modelled to have all the distinctive feature of a humanoid. However when the droid turned to smile at the passengers, the face seemed bizarre rather than friendly…

3.1 Stranded (part 1)

The Republic squad was surrounded. With Imperial soldiers rushing from both sides, the team had no chance but to take cover in a war-ravaged house, here on the remote planet of Agamar. A medical officer, an engineer, a soldier, an elite recon and a Jedi Master were stuck with seemingly no way out without a fight…

3.2 Stranded (part 2)

Master Alya Levine trailed the Imperial squad, moving as far behind them as she could to avoid detection. Her senses were augmented by the Force so that she could be aware of her opponents at all times. The four soldiers and their commander – a tall figure in a red armour piece – moved along the streets of the desolate town…

4. Chapter 3

Rhya was standing on her small balcony, looking at the cityscape. The massive, tightly-packed buildings had blocked the horizon and imposed upon the viewers their megalomaniac structure. Dark clouds had obscured the small portion of the sky perceivable from Rhya’s balcony, but they made no huge impact on the view of the night sky whatsoever…

4.1. Backfire (Part 1)

Not many planets know suffering as Metellos does. A dystrophic planet in the Core System and Coruscant’s retarded twin brother, the planet had struggled with over-population for decades. All attempts at rivalling the galactic heart in trade and industry had been flushed, leaving the population divided between those who could and those who would…

4.2. Backfire (Part 2)
Hard, oil-scented air was the first thing Caleb felt as he slowly regained consciousness. Then the turbulence, rocking the entire dark room he barely saw through half-closed eyes. As he turned to look back, his head started aching like it has been trampled by a stampede of wild Banthas.
